Treasurer Wayne Swan rolled out on Tuesday his own app, the Fix-o-Gram which allows his constituents in the marginal Brisbane seat of Lilley to send him photos of potholes, traffic jams or other local problems to alert him.

Knowing these local issued would give the treasurer, also the concurrent deputy prime minister, an opportunity to follow-up solutions to these local problems.

To download the app from Apple iTunes, search for Wayne Swan.

Mr Swan's tapping technology does not come as a surprise since the Web site brandtemper.com named him the most engaging politician on Facebook.

"If you had an issue you wanted your federal MP to help out on 20 years ago, you'd write a letter to set up an appointment ... The great thing about this new app is that accessing assistance from my office will now be in the pockets of local constituents 24/7," Mr Swan said in a statement.

Besides the treasurer, other Aussie politicians with their own apps are MPs Wyatt Roy, Malcolm Turnbull and Andrew Laming.
