An Australian woman holding a baby on a Sydney train is under investigation after she was filmed hurling racial slurs to Asian women.

The woman has been identified as 28-year-old Rebecca Blessington, was charged with using offensive language on Tuesday, and has been told to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on May 9.

The incident, which occurred around 8:30 am on April 8, Monday, was filmed on camera by a fellow passenger.

In the video obtained by The Sunday Telegraph, Ms Blessington is seen hurling expletives to a woman seated near her while she nurses a young child in her arms. She has allegedly threatened at least five women on the train travelling from Town Hall and Bondi Junction.

“Youse aren’t citizens. You come in here and take our country ya *****. You know it, too. And guess what mate – there’s a war comin’. A war between us and youse,” she is heard shouting.

She is also seen walking around the carriage to threaten the passengers with violence, telling one concerned commuter, “I’ll ****** hurt ya... So don’t underestimate me, ****!”

Ms Blessington, who is seen in the footage verbally abusing two Asian women, claimed that she was of Aboriginal descent.

“You know the ones that were here? The black fellas, the Kooris, which I am. This is our country mate.”

When another passenger stood up and told her that her threats were being taken seriously, she shouted back, “I do not care! You’re all scum!”

She also threatened the person filming her outburst by claiming that they were breaking the law. A fellow commuter then pressed the train’s emergency button to alert security.

The video was handed to the Police Transport Command. Police are now urging anyone who has witnessed the incident to contact investigators.
