Not bad at all. Rhys Badcock has been named winner of the first Australia’s 'MasterChef: The Professionals.' We have compiled here some facts you may want to know about the 29-year-old winner.

1. He can cook great menu without recipe, just his good memory.
According to multiple news reprots. Badcock had impressed the judges and the audience with his ability to replicate with gusto, a Marco Piere White recipe without referring to any written menu. He depended merely on his memory. That amazed the audience because he was able to pull it off amidst time pressure and millions of eyes watching him.

2. He is downright grounded and down to earth.
His win is credited by his humble demeanor and surprised everyone when he came out on top, beating out two other finalists Rhett Willis and Sarah Knights, who came out tied for second place, by two points.

3. He was trained by his mum.
The 27-year-old winner from NSW, Australia has credited his win to his mum. He was raised by his mum in Kalabari, and after his win, he said that he is planning on coming home to her for a while and spend time with his mother and three other siblings.

4. He owns a boat and thinking of working again after MasterChefs wrapped up.
A self-proclaimed country boy, Badcock said that he may go back to West Australia and work again.
"I'll probably go back (to WA) and work on the boat again, " Badcock said. "I'd like to have my own restaurant eventually but whatever comes with it, I'll have a crack at."

5. His friends urged him to audition for Channel Ten’s reality cooking show
Always the shy one, Badcock auditioned for the show only after he was urged by friends to take a crack at it.
It's all still a bit surreal, I suppose," he said, according to The West Australian. "I never thought I'd end up here, I'm absolutely stoked.

Following his wins, Badcock is set to go on a trip around the world “to gain more experience working with the best chefs the world has to offer.” With his wins comes $200,000. The two other finalists received $10,000 each. Hosted by Marco Pierre White, the MasterChef: The Professionals wrapped airing over the weekend.
