Australia’s Oldest Sex Worker Found Dead, Bound in Melbourne Street
Australia's oldest known sex worker is dead at 65. Johanna Martin, also known as Jazzy O, was found dead with her hands and legs tied in Lorimer Street, Port Melbourne on Tuesday.
She was wrapped in a blanket and believed to have died after a sexual game with a client that went wrong.
Ms Martin is a grandmother and wealthy. She was a widow after her truck driver-husband of 30 years died. With income from her trade, Ms Martin bought properties in Port Melbourne and Docklands.
Although she was in the flesh trade, Ms Martin never drank or took drugs, police said. She was also described by colleagues as a very kind woman. However, she was known for extreme sex shows that some of the audience walked out, according to the Herald Sun.
She is known to have celebrity clients, including football players. Ms Martin was a popular live sex performer and was famous for her live acts for the Melbourne Football Club's end-of-season event at the Nine Network's Melbourne studios in the 1990s.
Ms Martin was last seen leaving for apartment in Southbank on Tuesday morning. She died 10 a.m. that day. Her Mercedes Benz and Jack Russel dog have not been seen since then.
Ms Martin is the second sex trade worker found dead this week. On Monday, the corpse of 24-year old Karina Ann Bell was found by a baker in a Caufield South laneway. Police have not established the cause of Ms Bell's death although she did not have obvious signs of injuries.
The police said there was no link between the deaths of the two women.
