Couple Randy and Evi Quaid were issued arrest warrants last Monday for failing to attend the arraignment in connection with the felony vandalism charge filed against them after their last month's arrest for allegedly squatting illegally at their former Montecito house.

A representative of the actual owner presented to the police documents proving that his client owns the house since 2007 after buying it from the person who bought the property from the Quaids several years earlier. This refuted the claim of the Quaids that they are the rightful owners of the house since the 1990s. The police were also shown proof that the Quaids had done $5,000 worth of damages to the property. Apart from the misdemeanor charge filed against the couple, Evi was also charged with resisting arrest.

Santa Barbara Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter said that the Quaids' case will be heard again on October 26 but the couple may turn themselves in before that date.

This is not the first time that the Quaids missed court dates. In fact, for their earlier fraud case stemming from their nonpayment of a $10,000 bill at the San Ysidro Ranch, the couple served a few hours while Evi was given 240 hours of Community Service. The judge actually dropped the case against Randy while Evi pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge.
