‘Avatar’ star Sam Worthington spotted at Sydney airport with wife Lara Bingle

Sam Worthington, 39, is currently based in the U.S., but he returned to Sydney to film “Hacksaw Ridge” directed by Mel Gibson. On Dec. 1, Tuesday, The “Avatar” star was spotted arriving at Sydney with his wife Lara Bingle, 28, and their son, Rocket Zot Worthington.

The family was seen with seven large pieces of luggage, which Worthington helped carry while Bingle carried their six-month-old son in the airport. The model and former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant wore a black top, blazer and pants, according to News.com.au.

In “Hacksaw Ridge,” Sam plays Captain Glover. The story of the upcoming war drama revolves around the real life of Desmond T. Doss, the World War II army medic known for being the first Conscientious Objector who received the Congressional Medal of Honor in American history.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” star Andrew Garfield plays Doss in “Hacksaw Ridge.” Aside from Worthington, the war film stars several Australian actors including Teresa Palmer, Luke Bracey, Hugo Weaving, Ryan Corr, Richard Roxburgh, Rachel Griffiths and Luke Pegler, among others.

“Hacksaw Ridge” is not the only 2016 film Worthington is currently filming. He will also star in the drama film “The Shack” opposite Radha Mitchell and Octavia Spencer as well as the sci-fi movie “The Titan” opposite Ruth Wilson and Sofia Boutella.

Moreover, Worthington is set to reprise his role of Jake Sully in the upcoming “Avatar” sequels. The second, third and fourth instalments of the film franchise will be released in 2017, 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Meanwhile, Bingle is set to grace the cover of the latest issue of Cosmopolitan. In an interview with the magazine, she said every decision she makes is about her son with Worthington, and she also said that Rocket is her number one priority.

“We’ve created this family,” Bingle said of Worthington. “We’re a unit, and the choices I make have a reflection on them, so I now do whatever is best for Rocket.”

Worthington married Bingle on Dec. 28, 2014, and they welcomed their son Rocket Zot in March. Before Bingle, Worthington dated Maeve Dermody and Natalie Mark.
