'Avengers 4': Time jump expected after 'Infinity War'
It’s been a while since “Infinity War” gave the fans a tragic ending, but the title of “Avengers 4” has still not been revealed. One hint about what the title could be comes from a new report that suggests that there will be a significant time jump in the sequel.
According to a report by ComicBook.com, there may be a time jump of at least five years in the next film. The time gap should give all the remaining characters time to mourn and come to terms with what happened. The time jump should also give the superheroes enough time to regroup and plan their next step.
The time jump would be in line with the concept arts of the upcoming film that show the characters looking very different. The report also notes that the time jump would show how some characters like Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) have been searching for a way to fix things, and five years may be enough time for them to collect enough information before a final breakthrough.
The time jump will also give Marvel a chance to set up the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Things like Tony having a son and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) coming back to Earth may be some of the things to look forward to.
However, it remains to be seen how things will turn out in the movie. According to another report by ComicBook.com, Captain Marvel may also turn into dust by the end of her solo movie, as a result of the snap.
The only way to fix things may have something to do with time travel. Just how the superheroes will manage to go back in time without the time stone remains to be seen.
“Avengers 4” has been directed by the Russo brothers. The film is set to be released on May 3, 2019 in the US.
