'Avengers: Age of Ultron': Paul Bettany Says Joss Whedon's Film Is The Biggest Marvel Film, Actor Plays Red-Faced Android Called Vision
Paul Bettany recently revealed in his new interview that “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is one of the biggest films made by Marvel. The English actor, who is set to portray the role of Vision in the “Avengers” sequel, shared his perspective on the film on Jan. 22 with Radio Times. He said that the film has been made on such a large scale that he was blown way when he saw the first footage of the film at Comic Con.
“I remember we were at Comic-Con and they showed a portion of the footage, and I was just gobsmacked. And I looked down the row and every one of the Avengers was the same, including Samuel Jackson,” the actor said, reported the website. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” has reportedly been shot on a wide scale and, according to Bettany, the film had the biggest set he has ever seen. There were helicopters and drones camera flying at one corner of the set, according to the website.
Joss Whedon’s film also has the highest VFX shots ever used in a Marvel film. According to Screen Rant, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” features 3,000 VFX effects, which are much higher than 2500 VFX shots used in “Captain America: Winter Soldier” and 2,750 used in the “Guardians of the Galaxy," reported Screen Rant.
Meanwhile, Bettany also spoke about his role in the film. He reportedly loved playing the role of a superhuman Vision. Vision is a red-faced android and is a part of the Avengers team. In the comic book “Avengers#75,” Scarlet Witch becomes the love interest of Vision. However, it is not known whether the same storyline will be followed in the film or not. Writer-artist team Joe Simon and Jack Kirby have created Vision.
Bettany has previously played the role of JARVIS, Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) virtual assistant in “Iron Man” and “Avengers." It has been previously reported that Vision will be connected to JARVIS, though details in this regard have not been provided. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2015 in North America, in 3D and IMAX 3D. The film will be followed by “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2.”
