'Avengers: Age Of Ultron's' Joss Whedon Casts Paul Bettany For His Cheekbones—Report
The director of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Joss Whedon, spoke about his experience in directing his upcoming movie. The movie will feature some new characters like The Vision, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. All the superheroes from the 2012 movie also feature in the movie, and they take on a new villain.
Actor Paul Bettany was reportedly cast as The Vision for his cheek bones. The revelation was made by Whedon as he sat down for an interview with reporters in London. In the interview, posted on IGN, the director talked about a wide range of issues about the upcoming movie.
Whedon revealed that he had worked harder on all aspects of the filming process in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." The director said that he made a commitment to invest himself in "every production meeting, every location scout and every question about a prop."
Comparing the plot of the upcoming movie to the Frankenstein story, the director said that the Marvel universe contains a lot of Frankenstein monsters. He said that the story of Steve Rogers also had the same theme, but the difference is that the character is better looking.
Describing the character of the main villain in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Whedon said that the audience may not agree with the logic behind the actions of the villain, but they will understand him. The director showered James Spader with a lot of praise for his portrayal of the character.
The director also pointed out the difficulties while framing some of the character arcs in the upcoming movie. The characters Thor, Captain America and Iron Man have all got their solo movies. Whedon said the events of these movies affect the character's perception, and he had to incorporate all that in the upcoming movie.
The only major character among the superheroes who does not have, so far, a solo movie is Hulk, apart from Natasha and Hawkeye. Fans can only see the actor Mark Ruffalo as Hulk in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" at the moment. The director confirmed the character will have a major role in the upcoming movie. "There's something terrible coming that you'll love," the director reportedly said.
