Avengers Box Office Hit: Moviegoers still Talking about Best Moments
Movie Review - 5 Best Moments in the Marvel superheroes assembly film
In the box office as in the film itself, The Avengers movie showed that it is always better when the superheroes come together.
The Avengers has so far collected $US641.8 million worldwide, with moviegoers still raving about how much they enjoyed the much-awaited film assembly of the Marvel comics superheroes.
Just how well did the team of superheroes do in the box office? Within barely a week and a half, The Avengers have made more than Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America hauled in during their entire runs in theaters worldwide.
On top of Joss Whedon's excellent direction and the captivating 3D rendering, the moments when the quirkiness and idiosyncracies of the Marvel's superheroes show and the manner in which they kick ass despite themselves form the best parts of the movie.
In his Avengers movie review, film critic Roger Ebert said the film was directed "with style and energy." He added, "It provides its fans with exactly what they desire."
Here are five of the best scenes that The Avengers fans are still talking about, making those who have not seen the film schedule a movie night out with like-minded friends. Be warned, the following accounts may contain spoilers.
1. The fierce fight between Thor and Iron Man in the woods was a visual treat of superpowers - one from man-made gear, the other from out of this world strength. When Thor inadvertently powered Iron Man's suit to 400% capacity, the match just got four times better, too.
2. When Loki threw Iron Man out the Start Tower, the audience was certain something awesome was coming up and it had something to do with the metal bracelets that Iron Man has worn while engaging Loki in a brilliant psy war. Apparently, Iron Man can suit up while free falling, thanks to the bracelets. (Everyone in the audience was either grinning or beaming in nerd delight.)
3. At the peak of the crisis, Captain America tells Hulk, "I think now is the perfect time for you to get angry." Dr. Banner looks back at him and says, "That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry." This moment packed so much excitement for what was about to unfold. It would have not been so effective if someone other than soft-faced vulnerable-looking Mark Ruffalo was cast for the big green guy's role. Ruffalo must be the best Hulk of all time.
4. "Hulk, smash!" Captain America yelled at the big guy in the middle of their battle with Loki and his minions. It was funny because there was nothing else he could tell Hulk, but it did look like he thought for a quick second how else to get to him after giving out to the others as well.
5. "Please tell me nobody kissed me," this snappy one-liner was delivered by Iron Man after the most hilarious wake up call ever. The movie theater roared in laughter in this one long roller coaster moment. It is hard to imagine Iron Man played by another actor Robert Downey, Jr. is just perfect for the arrogant and smart-ass womanizing genius!
There is a number six in this list, and inasmuch as it is unfare to Black Widow to take the sixth place, it will be unfair for the others to be mentioned only after all her fight scenes have been listed. So it is best to say that Scarlett Johansson's fight scenes are the sexiest and most blazing among all the action-packed moments in the film.
