Axl Rose No Longer the Singer With 'Widest Vocal Range': Guns N' Roses Frontman Updates Fans With New Album
Axl Rose has been cited as the singer with the greatest vocal range, according to an interactive chart made by Concert Hotels.com. The Guns N' Roses frontman was grateful for the title among the world's greatest singers. But Vintage Vinyl News (VVN) Music discovered the new top singer in terms of vocal range.
Axl Rose told SPIN on May 28 that being announced as the singer with the greatest vocal range was "very humbling." Axl added he thought of other singers ahead of him. He noted his opinion for the best ones will be rock singers.
He enumerated different artists that he admires like Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Johnny Cash and more.
Concert Hotel's recent findings were researched using Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest singers of all time, Billboard's 2014 nominees for best male and female artists, and the Range Place's data of each singer's vocal abilities. After the study, it figured out that Axl Rose had the widest vocal range spanning one of the lowest octaves up to one of the highest.
As for Axl's music career, he revealed that Guns N' Roses will release a new album due in a few months, according to a recent interview with Revolver magazine. Axl added their next album was like an extension of the band's sixth album titled, "Chinese Democracy," which was already recorded.
VVN Music made a new research, in relation to the fans' clamor of not including more artists in the list. Axl's top spot was immediately taken away by Faith No More's Mike Patton. Patton's results showed he has a six-octave vocal range according to the new research.
