‘The Bachelor 20th Anniversary Special’ recap: Steamy hot tub moments, scandals and updates on past contestants
Jade and Tanner tie the knot
Marking 20 seasons of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” fans celebrated Valentine’s Day with a trip down memory lane to revisit some of the reality TV show’s best moments.
“The Bachelor 20th Anniversary Special” featured some of the show’s most romantic moments, as well as offered a peek of the lives of past Bachelor couples and fan favorites. The Bachelor nation also had a chance to become a part of a very special moment: Tanner and Jade's wedding. Host Chris Harrison officiated the wedding, which was filled with special performances by artists such as Seal.
Trista Sutter, the first-ever Bachelorette talked about her big day with Ryan. The two got married for 12 years ago on live TV, showing that the show’s process could really work. According to the lovebirds, their love story "gave people hope" that they too could find that special someone. "You have to carve out time for each other. You have to make your relationship a priority," Ryan said.
Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth, who met on “The Bachelorette” Season 11, revealed that they are still going strong. “Sometimes when we can't fall asleep, we re-watch our wedding proposal from the show,” she admitted. “I still get the feelings as I did when he first proposed.”
Chris and Desiree Siegfried, who met on “The Bachelorette” Season 9, announced that they are still happily married and that they just bought a new house.
Sean and Catherine Lowe, who met on “The Bachelor” Season 17, reported that they are having a baby.
The Bachelor Nation was also given another look at some of the show’s steamy hot tub moments, as well as the steamiest of them all.
“The Bachelor 20th Anniversary Special” also recounted the number one biggest scandal of the show. Season 14 contestant Rozlyn Papa was sent home for having inappropriate relations with someone who works on the show.
Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert’s wedding was the special’s most romantic highlight, as they said their “I do’s” in front of Bachelor alumni. The two fell in love last year on “Bachelor in Paradise 2.”
The couple exchanged personalised vows that touched the heart of their guests and home viewers. “I had seen marriages in my family give their best and fail and I became afraid to fully open myself up to somebody, and that is until I met you," Jade told Tanner.
Here are the other best moments of their wedding, capping it off with the couple’s first dance as husband and wife. Seal serenaded the couple with his hit song, “Kiss From A Rose.”
