'The Bachelor Australia': Meet the 22 women competing for Richie Strahan's heart

In the new season of “The Bachelor Australia,” 22 women from different parts of the country will be competing to win the affection of Richie Strahan. Five of the beauties are from West Australia, the hometown of the bachelor, looking to find true love soon.

Sydney Morning Herald cited that the list includes Alexandra Nation, a single mom and actress, Keira Maguire, who is best friends with Richie’s cousin. Eliza is a NSW event coordinator who wrote a song for Richie. Sasha is an executive assistant from Victoria who gifted the bachelor with a miniature doll version of herself. Noni is a swimwear designer from Queensland who gave Richie a bouquet of bacon flowers. Kirralee Morris is a former “Playboy” and Zoo Weekly” model. Mia is a former professional athlete. Marja is a yoga instructor.

Yahoo reported that Rachael, a support worker, is another contestant and fan of the show. Nikki is a real estate agent who thought that Richie had kind eyes. Natalie is a former FIFO worker who found Richie charismatic and genuine. Megan is a health promotions officer who joined the show on a whim.

The group of females represent various professions and are aged 23 to 34 years old. Almost all of the women are white, which raised criticisms from viewers. The contestants traveled to Glenorie, a town in NSW, to shoot the reality show. A series trailer showed several of the women delivering gifts to Richie during their first meeting. The season finale was filmed in Bali, Indonesia early in June 2016 under tight security.

The bachelor, Richie Strahan, 31, was previously a contestant in Season 1 of “The Bachelorette Australia.” He finished third after being axed by bachelorette Sam Frost during the show. Michael Turnbull, another contestant who spent time with Richie in the previous season, predicted that the latter will most likely fall in love with Tiffany, the blonde training administrator from WA. He explained that Richie likes blonde, fit and tall girls, so he will probably choose Tiffany in the end.

“The Bachelor Australia” is set to launch later in July 2016 on Ten. More updates and details are expected soon.
