'The Bachelor': Nick Viall vows that this season is not about personal redemption and is about finding love
Nick Viall is not a stranger to fans of the “Bachelor” franchise -- far from it. He appeared in a handful of seasons before starring in his own, and he said the he used lessons from his past experiences in order to finally find true love.

Nick had an interview with Extra TV before he met the 30 ladies that were going to fight for his attention. “I’ve learned a lot being on all those seasons, to focus on what’s important,” he told Terri Seymour. “I never looked at it as a redemption. I was aware that I wasn’t always a fan favourite.”
And while Nick might not have considered himself the most beloved out of any of his stints on the different “Bachelor” franchises, the producers of the show evidently saw something in him. "He has just become that perennial, second place guy who wants to find love and is as sincere, if not more sincere, than anybody about finding it," host Chris Harrison told People Magazine when the announcement was made. "It's about giving him his chance to find love. Who deserves it more than him?"
This is Nick’s fourth run at finding love in front of the camera. He was the runner up in “The Bachelorette” seasons 10 and 11 with Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe respectively. In Andi’s season, Nick was portrayed as the villain and infamously confirmed in the after-season special that the two of them had slept together.
The 36-year-old then went on “Bachelor In Paradise” season 3. He connected well with Jen Saviano in particular, but ultimately does not get down on one knee to propose. “My biggest fear is that I’m going to regret it,” he told her. “I feel like you deserve better than me.”
