Back-to-Back No.1 for Canada: Andrew Wiggins is Top Pick in 2014 NBA Draft
The Cleveland Cavaliers made Andrew Wiggins of Canada the No. 1 pick of the 2014 NBA Draft. The selection comes a year after Anthony Bennett, another Canadian, got chosen as number one overall also by the Ohio franchise.
The 6-foot-8 Wiggins, who is from Toronto, Ontario played for a year for the Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA. He averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in his lone year in college.
Wiggins attended Vaughan Secondary School in Ontario and the Huntington Prep School in Huntington, West Virginia
The 19-year-old also has experience playing for the national team suiting up for Canada in the 2010 FIBA Under-17 World Championship and the 2012 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship. He led the NT in scoring (15.2 PPG) in the latter tournament.
