Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean Finally Ties The Knot
90's babies, pay attention: another Backstreet Boy is off the market. A.J. McLean married model girlfriend Rochelle DeAnna Karidis in a long-expected ceremony on Saturday.
The intimate garden wedding was held under a tent at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Guns N' Roses' "November Rain" accompanied Karidis as she walked down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown.
A guest tells People that the husband-to-be "looked happy and excited" as he waited with his groomsmen.
The inked pair have been waiting for this joyful day for a long time, after Mclean popped the question during a live performance in Las Vegas. Their wedding was postponed to give the pop singer time to recover from his third stint in rehab early this year.
Judging from Mclean's tweets, it's obvious the boy band star couldn't wait to tie the knot with his lady love. The night before the nuptials, he took to Twitter to express his anticipation.
"Wedding is tomorrow, Ro and I could barely sleep last night, I think we're a little excited!" he tweets on Friday night.
"I'm so nervous and excited for tomorrow," he adds a while later.
The ceremony was a nostalgic throwback to the 90's pop scene with the all the Backstreet Boys in attendance, including former member Kevin Richardson. Other guests include New Kids on the Block lead man Joey McIntyre and comedienne Kathy Griffin. The officiant was celebrity photographer Tyler Shields.
The gothic-themed wedding may be unconventional, but it was a labor of love for the couple.
In an interview in 2010, Mclean says he is an extremely hands-on groom, and that he and Karidis are "good teammates."
"I am kind of groomzilla actually," he tells OK! Magazine good-naturedly.
"When it comes to the flower arrangements, the food, the entertainment, she wants me to do it so I have been meeting with our wedding planner, who is the most amazing wedding planner in the world, Mindy Weiss," Mclean adds.
There is certainly a touch of McLean's characteristic dark stylistics in the invitations. TMZ gives fans a glimpse of the death-themed invites designed with bloody lettering and gothic imagery.
