Australian teacher arrested for underage sex

According to AAP, an Australian teacher who also taught in New Zealand and China was caught in Philippines - at a beach resort in Compostela town, north Cebu - using a 14-year-old boy to recruit other, equally underage boys for sex. He would take nude photos of them, have sex with them and then pay them $12-25 for each visit. This man is also believed to have played hockey to an international level and was apparently travelling with his wife, on holiday, till she moved to another location in Philippines. Sheryl Batuista, the deputy chief of the regional anti-human trafficking task force believes there were other victims too - though the teacher in question has denied every allegation

Alabama kindergarten teacher charged with rape

On July 3rd, a kindergarten teacher from Alabama was arrested and charged with several counts of sexual misconduct - rape, sodomy, incest and sexual abuse on a boy between the ages of 12 and16. The woman in question, Anessa Dawn Olive Ferguson, is herself not only a teacher but also a mother of three children. The authorities refused to divulge the victim's name or if there were more victims - it was only stated that the victim was not a student of Anessa's. Ironically, the abuse was reported by the victim's teacher.

Teacher arrested on wedding day

In yet another incident, a Westchester high school teacher was arrested on what was supposed to be his wedding day. John M Azabache, 31, was charged with raping a female student, 16; between March and July this year. He was to get married to his fiancée Amanda Rae DeLuccia on Friday but it was on Thursday night that the guest list was informed of the wedding being off. The fiancée, Amanda is now on the prosecution's witness list - Azabache has not yet issued a statement.

Teacher gives birth to child fathered by underage student

Again on July 3rd, Laura Elizabeth Whitehurst, a 28-year-old English teacher in California was busted days after she gave birth to a child, allegedly fathered by a 16-year-old student she was having an affair with. The boy's mother found out and alerted the authorities. Two more victims have also stepped forward, claiming that she had sex with them while they were still minors. If convicted, she will face upto 29 years in prison.
