The war of words continues between President Barack Obama and actor/activist Matt Damon. Matt, in an interview to Black Entertainment Television took a swipe at the president and jokingly said that the President "broke up" with him describing their souring relationship over the past few years. He said the President had some explaining to do especially to a constitutional law professor expressing his displeasure over the U.S drone strikes and the large spying program by the NSA, which was brought to light by Edward Snowden recently. Matt also pointed out that the ex-president Jimmy Carter had said that we no longer live in a democracy, an obvious thumbs down to the current president.

Matt, was one of the earliest supporters of Mr. Obama way back in 2008 when he was still a presidential nominee. However, Matt said that he was disappointed with the President in his first term and expressed his displeasure publicly. The President had retorted at the correspondents' dinner by indicating his disappointment with Matt over the movie "The Adjustment Bureau" in which Matt plays a young politician running for a seat in the Senate.

Matt, apart from being an accomplished actor is also a co-founder of a charity - water.org. The organization works on providing solutions to the drinking water and sanitation problems faced by third world countries. The organization has a presence in Africa, South Asia and Central America. The organization partners with local partners and strives to find better financing models and greater transparence and at the same time tries to bring innovative solutions to take on the water problems of the local communities.

Matt is currently promoting his latest sci-fi movie Elysium, which is set in the year 2154, where the world is starkly divided on class lines. The wealthy, in the movie, live on a manmade space station and are virtually disease free whereas the have-nots live on a ruined earth. Matt, in the movie has to travel to the space station in order to reunite the two worlds.
