J.J. Barea won an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 and he is open to returning to his former team if the Minnesota Timberwolves decide to trade him back to Texas.

In an article by Gonzalo Aguirregomezcorta for ESPNDeportes.com, the spitfire point guard mentioned his affiliation with the Dallas owner as one of the key factors for him to consider rejoining the Mavericks.

"It's a great relationship with Mark Cuban. If they want to bring me back to Dallas, I am very (good) with it," Said Barea, who’s busy these days in leading his country, Puerto Rico, in the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship.

Puerto Rico is currently undefeated in the tournament which serves as a qualifier for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain. Barea is averaging 12.3 points, 4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in four games.

Barea is under contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves through the 2014-2015 season however, and he’s committed to the deal until it expires.

"But I'm happy in Minnesota. They're the ones that wanted me there, the ones that signed me for four years, so until they decide to trade me, I'm going to give them all my effort in the games,"
Barea said.

The Puerto Rican was a key member in the Mavs’ title run in 2011. The most notable is his performance in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. Barea scored 15 and 17 points in Games 5 and 6, respectively to help Dallas clinch the series.
