Baseball, softball plan on joint proposal for 2020 Olympic bid

The international federations for softball and baseball said in a joint statement over the weekend that they are hoping to work together in hopes to get both the sports back into the Olympics in 2020.
According to the Associated Press, the federations noted in the joint statement that they are now studying ‘potential savings’ that they could generate if the federations decide to share Olympic venue and housing at the Olympic Village.
The International Softball Federation and the International Baseball Federation are scheduled to sit down during the convention at the Sport Accord next week.
More details on the reported plans will be discussed at the convention that will be held in London. Both federations were dropped at 2012 Olympic Games in London resulting from a 2005 vote, said the Associated Press.They federations will also not be participating at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
