“The Bastard Executioner” actor Ed Sheeran has been confirmed to appear in “Home and Away” before November. As a guest actor, Sheeran will play a character who will sing in an upcoming episode of the Australian soap opera.

In the “Home and Away” episode that will air on Oct. 29, Sheeran will play Teddy, the boy Marilyn (Emily Symons) used to nanny. His character will have an impromptu concert in the episode.

This is not the first scripted TV series role to be played by the “Thinking Out Loud” singer. Currently, he is part of “The Bastard Executioner” cast; he plays the recurring role of Sir Cormac. He made his debut in the historical drama series on Sept. 22.

While Sheeran will appear in “ Home and Away” only as a guest actor, a new cast member will be joining the Australian soap opera. Raechelle Banno, 22, is the latest to join the cast, although it has yet to be confirmed when she will make her debut in the show.

The 22-year-old actress from Sydney appeared in “Home and Away” with her twin sister Karina Banno as a child actress, and it has been her dream to be in the show again. During her audition, Banno did not expect Scott Lee and Matt Little to be reading with her.

Recently, Banno told Daily Telegraph that she thought reading with Lee and Little would make her more nervous during her audition, but it did not. Instead, she said it just made her excited to be part of the “Home and Away” cast.

Banno told the publication that she will do many romantic scenes in “Home and Away,” in which she will play a troubled teen named Olivia. Recently, she was spotted at Palm Beach filming a kissing scene with Lee, who plays a bad boy character named Hunter.

“Home and Away” will be the first TV show in which Raechelle plays a major role. In 2013, she played a small part in “In Your Dreams” Season 1 episode 24.

Among the Hollywood stars who have appeared in “Home and Away” are “Thor: Ragnarok” actor Chris Hemsworth and “True Blood” alum Ryan Kwanten. The late “Brokeback Mountain” actor Heath Ledger also appeared in the Australian soap opera in 2007.
