‘The Bastard Executioner': 'Sons of Anarchy' Creator's New Project, What We Know So Far [VIDEO]
After wrapping up his popular biker drama series on Dec. 9, "Sons of Anarchy" series creator Kurt Sutter is gearing up for another project with FX Network. Setting the bar high for his next project, the esteemed writer ended the biker era on television with a big bang as the show ended with an all-time high as the network's most watched season for "Sons of Anarchy" Season 7.
According to the recent news, "The Bastard Executioner" might be filmed at Swansea, Wales as the medieval show features a knight with a vendetta. Teaming up with Imagine's Brian Grazer, the tattooed showrunner received the greenlight from FX even before "Sons of Anarchy" ended its Season 6. Sutter even revealed through his video blog, WTFSutter, is on the process of writing the pilot with other writers in the Writer's Room.
"It sort of fun of jumping into completely different world, completely different time, completely different vernacular, it's a toughest thing for me right now with the pilot is the story is all broken on my board here but you know trying to find different rhythms of speech and vernacular," Sutter told his fans who are eagerly waiting for his new project. "I'm not writing it on period speech just because there's no actual recording of what that vernacular sounded like with intonation and everything."
Not used to writing simple vernacular, the director/executive producer is facing a challenge for his new period piece. "The Bastard Executioner" about a warrior knight in King Edward III's charge who vowed not pick up his sword again but forced to pick up the "bloodiest sword of all" when violence found him once again.
"Sons of Anarchy" lead female star Katey Sagal is scheduled to reunite with her real life husband, Kurt Sutter, after her award-winning performance as SAMCRO's matriarch Gemma Teller. The veteran star confirmed her involvement in the period drama during a conference call but still now word on her role for the upcoming project.
"The Bastards Executioner" is reportedly going to premiere next year's fall on FX. Watch Sutter's video blog here courtesy of sutterink.com.
