‘Batman V Superman’: Aquaman Saves Superman, Sets Him Up For The Sequel
A report picked up some interesting details regarding Aquaman's role in the production of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."
According to Inquisitr Jeff Sneider of The Wrap, together with Meet the Movie Press podcast attended a luncheon at the Toronto International Film Festival at the Trump Hotel last week. Sneider reportedly heard some older gentlemen seated behind him, talking about working with Zack Snyder on his latest movie "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." The men, who were actually Warner Bros. executives, were overheard discussing Aquaman.
The aquatic superhero reportedly fits into the story of the sequel, which stems back to his role in "Man of Steel." Aquaman had reportedly set up Clark Kent's appearance in "Batman V Superman."
Looking back at "Man of Steel," the character allegedly played an important role in rescuing Superman. A scene shows Clark Kent saving some people from a collapsing, fiery oil rig. The rig eventually exploded, sending a weakened Superman to the ocean. As seen on the video below, Kent can be seen floating in the water at one point. However, two giant whales soon approached to presumably save and bring him to the shore.
This scene didn't actually play out in the movie since viewers only saw a flashback involving Clark Kent and his mother before he is again seen safely on the shore. However, per Jeff Sneider, Aquaman was responsible in rescuing Superman in "Man of Steel." It's a known fact basing on the comics that Aquaman can talk to sea animals. Sneider reports the whales were sent by Aquaman to save Superman.
Listen to Jeff Sneider and Mark Reilly talk about Aquaman and Superman below at the 29:45 time mark.
A previous report from Schmoes Know also tells about Superman and Aquaman's relationship in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." Host Mark Reilly credits other rumours about the aquatic superhero's resentment towards Superman.
Aquaman supposedly harbours anger towards Superman because of what he's caused to the Indian Ocean from the destruction of the World Engine in "Man of Steel." However, his supposed anger towards Superman remains a speculation. Details of Aquaman's character in "Batman V Superman" haven't been revealed yet.
Additionally, Jeff Sneider overheard that Aquaman will be a "buff Hawaiian guy with tribal tattoos" in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." Somehow, this description allegedly fits Jason Momoa's look. However, the actor has yet to confirm his involvement in the movie.
