Previous reports claimed Zack Snyder used some concepts for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" from Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns." The story supposedly features a great piece for the "Man of Steel" sequel and it's apparently also the director's favorite read.

Aside from the batmobile and Batman's costume, which were said to be inspired by Miller's graphic novel, little confirmation has been acknowledged on the novel's influence on "BVS." However, according to Harry Lennix, fans of "The Dark Knight Returns" will be happy with "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Harry Lennix may have revealed some possible spoilers for the sequel in an interview with Moviefone. He was initially quizzed about his character in NBC's "Blacklist," where he plays FBI Agent Harold Cooper. However, the topic eventually veered off to the movie production of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Although sworn to secrecy, the actor hinted the influence of Frank Miller's popular graphic novel on the 2016 movie. "Anybody who's a fan of the '86 graphic novel 'The Dark Knight Returns,' I think will be well pleased by that," he said.

Lennix even likened "Batman v Superman" to a "historic event." "Clearly, Zack Snyder is on the cutting edge of directing movies of this scope and scale," he added.

The actor ended his interview acknowledging the acting prowess of his co-stars Amy Adams and Henry Cavill. Harry Lennix, who played as General Swanwick in 2013's "Man of Steel," will be reprising his role in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

But just to what extent does Frank Miller's novel has an influence on the movie? Comic Book Movie claims the graphic novel features an epic battle scene. This scene was reportedly teased in the footage shown at the Comic-con.

This is not the first time Harry Lennix has indirectly revealed some possible spoilers for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Last month the actor confirmed all the rumours surrounding the movie, as reported by batman-news.

In an interview with Screenweektv, the actor claimed fans need only to search the Internet for their needed "Batman v Superman" details. In the same manner as in his Moviefone Q & A, Lennix ended his interview by revealing his excitement over working again with Ben Affleck. The pair previously starred in "State of Play."

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens in U.S. cinemas on March 26, 2016. Watch Lenix's interview about the movie below.
