'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice': Bruce Wayne has 'post-apocalyptic vision' of his adversary
Michael Wilkinson, the costume designer for “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” shared some details about the movie in a recent interview. Wilkinson revealed how obsessed Bruce Wayne will be with Superman in the movie and he also talked about his inspiration for the Aquaman costume.
Speaking to Omelete, Wilkinson revealed that the teaser trailer sowing Batman (Ben Affleck) being captured by Superman (Clark Kent) soldiers was a dream sequence. The costume designer said that the scene was a dream of Bruce Wayne and it showed the extent of the character’s obsession with his adversary.
In his dream, Bruce sees a “post-apocalyptic” world that is similar to the one seen in the movie “Mad Max.” In his “nightmare” Superman has become a “despot” and has an army of soldiers and flying beings at his command.
The costume designer also talked about the Aquaman costume in the movie. Wilkinson said that he was inspired by the tattoos of Jason Momoa, who will be playing the role for the first time in the movie. Aquaman will be having two different costumes in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the costume designer revealed.
“He’ll start one way and will develop to a different visual,” Wilkinson said about the costume of Aquaman. Momoa’s character is one of the few major characters that are not seen in any of the trailers of the movie that have been released so far.
A recently released trailer of the movie showed the meeting of Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent in a party that is organised by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). The trailer also revealed that it is Lex who will unleash the super villain called Doomsday by experimenting with the dead body of General Zod.
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to be released on March 24, 2016 in Australia. Some of the other superheroes in the movie are Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and The Flash (Ezra Miller).
