'Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice'—New Character Is Aquaman's Ally [Spoilers]
A leaked picture from the production set of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" suggests a new character will be featured in the movie from the comic books. The character is an ally of Aquaman who has fought alongside of him against his formidable foes. [Spoiler Alert]
Aquaman's ally, Kahina the Seer, may be featured in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." A Twitter user, ABC's James Hill, posted a picture from outside the trailer of the character's double from the production set in Chicago. The producers have, so far, not confirmed the appearance of the character in the movie.
Kahina the Seer has the ability to see the future and has helped Aquaman in confronting his enemies like Black Manta in the comic books. She has been a part of the superhero group called "The Others," which was formed by Aquaman.
A mystical object from Atlantis called the Seal of Clarity helps Kahina see the future. But her ability to see the future is limited and did not help her prevent her own death in the comic books.
The possible addition of Kahina to "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will add to the long list of superheroes that are already set to feature in the movie. Apart from the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel, the other superheroes in the movie are Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg. There are unconfirmed reports of other superheroes that may be joining the team.
Will the superhero overdose cause an inflection point in the popularity of the superhero movies? Or will it fuel more superhero movies to be released in the future? The past performance of superhero movies at the box office has resulted in a flurry of announcements featuring new and returning superheroes.
Some of the cast members of the upcoming movie include Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is directed by Zack Snyder and is slated to be released in March 2016. The success or failure of the movie could impact the 2018 movie starring Jason Momoa in and as "Aquaman."
