‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’: Two Female Characters Who Have Played The Role of Robin in The Comics
The list of superheroes featuring in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" has kept growing, with more casting rumours swelling their ranks in the movie. The latest reports suggest that the role of Robin may be played by a female actress in the movie. Here is a look at two female characters from the comic books that feature as Robin.
Jena Malone, the actress famous for her role in movies like "Sucker Punch" and "Pride and Prejudice," may have been cast in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." According to a report by TheHollywoodReporter, she may be playing the role of Robin in the movie.
For readers who are used to seeing the role of Robin being played by male actors on screen should note that the role of Robin has also been played by female characters in comic books. Here is a look at two such characters that could be played by Jena Malone.
One of the female characters to play Robin in the comic books is Carrie Kelley. She is a thirteen year old girl who is saved by an elderly Batman from muggers one night. She will later put on the Robin costume and go in search of the caped crusader. She uses a slingshot with firecrackers as her choice of weapon. Readers should note that Ben Affleck may be playing the role of middle-aged Batman and seen sporting a patch of grey hair in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."
The other female character to play the role of Robin is Stephanie Brown. She is the daughter of the dreaded super villain Cluemaster. She, however, stopped her father's crime wave by helping and falling in love with Tim Drake, who plays the role of Robin at that time.
She takes on the role of Robin after breaking up with Tim Drake. She sneaks into the Batcave and demands that Bruce Wayne train her as the next Robin. Will Ben Affleck be seen training Jena Malone as Robin in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice"?
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is slated to be released on March 24, 2016 in New Zealand and on March 25 in the UK and the U.S. The movie will feature Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Gal Gaddot as Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill as Clark Kent.
