Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is rapidly progressing. Thanks to "Batman V Superman" spies there are regular updates available on the movie that is almost two years away from its release date. Director Kevin Smith recently dished out on the role of new superhero Aquaman. Keep reading to find out the details. Also know more about the DC Comics character.

In his most recent episode of Hollywood Babble-On podcast, Kevin Smith talked about the much-hyped superhero of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," Aquaman. Rumours surfaced that Aquaman will be added to the list of superheroes in the movie. At the same time, it was reported that the character will played be by "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Mamoa. However, there is no confirmation on the rumours that spread like wildfire last week and many media outlets believe it is a done deal.

Kevin Smith has something to say about Aquaman in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice." The director says that when people think of Aquaman they "think of traditional cartoon version." But in his opinion the "current version or incarnation" of Aquaman is "badass king of the seven seas" and "a warlord to some degree."

"So I could see where they would get away with casting this dude," Kevin Smith continued.

"Yeah, I'd buy it. Will they blonde his hair, you think? It's awesome. Think about it dude, they use to make fun of Aquaman all the time. Aquaman, he only talks to f****** fishes. F****** say that to that dude's face," Kevin further added.

For those who don't know, Aquaman is a DC Comics superhero who is said to be the ruler of Atlantis and the oceans on Earth. Here are few things to know about Aquaman.

Aquaman is the founding member of Justice League.

He is has had many romantic relationships one of which was with Wonder Woman. But it was nothing more than unrequited love.

As for his strengths and powers, he is well adapted to underwater environment and can survive that. He possesses Atlantean attributes. He has superhuman durability, speed, endurance, reflexes and strength. He also possesses what is called marine telepathy. With the help of this power he is able to communicate with organisms of the seas. He can not only swim masterfully but can also defeat his enemies in hand-to-hand combat.

His weapons include Trident of Neptune, black lantern ring and waterbearer hand.
