The production of "Batman vs. Superman" may be shifting to New Mexico instead of Africa due to the Ebola virus scare. The recent outbreak of the virus has been largely in West Africa and has already claimed the lives of thousands of patients.

"Batman vs. Superman" was reportedly scheduled to be filming in Africa. A new casting call spotted by HenryCavillNews points to the production moving to New Mexico. The producers are trying to re-create an African village set and are looking for extras.

Filming is set to take place in Deming, New Mexico. The location has been used previously to film popular movies like "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," "Gas, Food Lodging" and "Two Men in Town."

The other filming locations of "Batman vs. Superman" include Detroit in Michigan, Chicago and Yorkville in Illinois, Washington in the District of Columbia and East Los Angeles College in California. All the above mentioned locations are within the U.S.

Deming is located in Southwestern part of New Mexico and is just over 53 kilometers from the Mexican border. The land is mostly a desert with some large rock formations. It is known as "Rock-Hunters Paradise."
