The battle for the most coveted title is up for grabs this November 9 at the Crocus Hall in Moscow, Russia. Almost 87 delegates from all over the world will battle to get the title and earn the crown of Miss Universe 2013.

As Miss Philippines bagged the crown at the recent 2013 Miss World pageant, people are starting to notice and talk about the Filipina beauty. They have been able to make it to the top 5 in last 3 consecutive Miss Universe pageants. Almost winning the crown last year was Janine Tugonon who battled against Miss USA but Olivia Culpo was able to get the crown and win it as the 2012 Miss Universe.

In this year's Miss Universe pageant two Filipinas will be battling for the crown: Riza Santos representing Canada and Miss Philippines herself, Ariella Arida.

Riza Santos was crowned Miss Canada after the crown was given, as a mistake, to a fellow contestant who was actually a runner-up and not the winner. After Riza was given the crown as the rightful winner, she will be representing Canada in the Miss Universe pageant. Riza Santos is a Filipina at heart as both parents are Filipinos and she was raised in Alberta, Canada.

Representing the Philippines is Ariella Arida, who won the title just this May at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. The 24 -year old beauty is a natural born Filipina and has been modeling at an early age. She is one of the most talked about candidates and may have a shot at being crowned Miss Universe 2013.
