Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips's suspension for off-field misconduct has been lifted by his Top 14 club, Bayonne.

Phillips missed Bayonne's Basque derby win over Biarritz on Sunday after he was punished for his behaviour after his club's loss to Toulouse on September 21.

The 30-year-old would have missed the match anyway due to a hand injury which required surgery.

He is expected to return to action in Bayonne's Amlin Challenge Cup match against Modigliano on October 12.

According to the BBC Bayonne are set to have a meeting with Phillips to discuss the incident and to express their concerns to him.

"Mike has a meeting with the board of the club and head coach, Christian Lanta, at the start of next week and they will talk about his suspension," said a Bayonne spokesman.

"All the players have to be responsible and have a professional attitude at the club."
