Being Lara Bingle surprised early critics and ranked thirteenth overall on its debut at Ten, according to OzTAM data.

The controversial model's reality show placed sixth in the young 18-49 and 16-39 demographics, which bodes well for its producers and advertisers.

Beating Lara Bingle to the Top 10 Tuesday night were: Bikie Wars-Ten (10th placer at 1,029,000), The Big Bang Theory-Nine (11th at 984,000), and Home and Away-Seven (12th at 968,000).

Those willing to give the reality show a chance found that the star of the show was okay, but the producers proved rather disappointing.

Being Lara Bingle Reviews

Reviewing the new reality show's debut, Sydney Morning Herald's Steve Molk wrote, "the show missed the mark from the opening scene. It should have shown Lara being pitched the idea so that the audience understands that - presumably, and as Lara's been attesting in media interviews over the past weeks - this show wasn't her idea."

"In saying that the show was dull, I want to make it clear that I'm not condemning Bingle herself, she seems extremely sweet, and the way she constructs sentences is probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen, it was the editors and producers that failed here," TheVine's AlexGorman wrote.
