Millions of Filipinos and even those based overseas were glued on their TV sets on Thursday night following the latest development in the popular gay-themed soap opera My Husband's Lover, which has even caught the attention of Philippine bishops.

The episode ended with a cliffhanger when Lally, portrayed by Carla Abellana, caught her husband Vincent, played by Tom Rodriguez, in the arms of his male lover Eric, essayed by Dennis Trillo.

The suspense-filled scene of catching her husband playing around finally came one month after the show premiered over GMA-7. The show had beaten the competition in ABS-CBN and is being talked about because of its risqué theme.

The "caught you" moment was the result of a build-up cleverly made by the show's screenwriters as several episode endings hinted of Vincent and Eric being caught by Lally red-handed but proved to be false.

Earlier this week, there were two cliffhangers that made viewers think that the gay couple was finally caught by the poor wifey - but were actually not. The first incident was when she walked into a restaurant hoping to catch Vincent having lunch with a mistress, only to find out it was with his best friend (cum lover).

The second was when Lally tracked her husband again to find out he went to the house of a lady painter, Sol, to discover that Sol's son was her husband's best friend. However, she was not sure if he was the gay son that Sol, played by Chanda Romero, was referring to since Lally did not know if Sol has other sons.

The teaser for Friday, which came with the closing billboard, showed that Lally fainted upon her discovery and when she regained consciousness asked Vincent why did he fall in love with a gay.

And her husband's reply, "Because I am also like him - gay" points viewers to more exciting days ahead as Lally now has to face the reality that Vincent is a closet gay and in love with his high school best friend.
