Ben Affleck Refused to Wear Yankees Cap for Gone Girl Movie
Movie actor Ben Affleck showed his loyalty to the Boston Red Sox all the way up to refusing to don a New York Yankees cap for his movie "Gone Girl."
Oscar Award winner Affleck reveled in an interview that he got along with master filmmaker David Fincher during the production of the book adaptation, Gone Girl. Affleck was all praises for his director who has produced a film which many are projecting to be a commercial and critical hit.
"I didn't go in thinking, 'I'm going to be buddies with David Fincher,'" Mr. Affleck said. "It was a real surprise bonus." However, as reported by Cara Buckley of the New York Times, Affleck and Fincher only had one legitimate fight during the production: a baseball cap.
"I said, 'David, I love you, I would do anything for you,'" the star of the upcoming Batman versus Superman movie recalled. "'But I will not wear a Yankees hat. I just can't. I can't wear it because it's going to become a thing, David. I will never hear the end of it. I can't do it.' And I couldn't put it on my head."
A self-confessed fan of the Red Sox, Affleck is reported to have some nude (frontal) scenes in the film but did not compromise with the director in the use of the Yankees cap. He was supposed to put on the cap in one scene to disguise him in a New York airport. The two sides finally met halfway and Fincher finally agreed on letting him wear a different cap: A Mets one.
Affleck has also garnered support from some social media followers due to his loyalty to his team.
Ben Affleck refused to wear a Yankees hat in one of his movies. And that is why I like Ben Affleck.
