The sequel to Ben Stiller's 2001 hit Zoolander will soon hit the big screen. Zoolander 2 is reportedly nearing completion, at least, as far as the script goes.

Justin Theroux, one of the Zoolander 2's co-writers told MTV News that the script for the sequel chronicling the (mis)adventure of protagonist male model Derek Zoolander, played by Ben Stiller, is nearing completion.

Theroux said that he said the Zoolander sequel will probably materialize.

"The script is in good shape right now. I'm feeling very optimistic about it."

"We're doing a few little tweaks before we submit it, but I'm very hopeful that I'll be working on that soon. It's too funny - it'll blow your mind."

It's not yet clear if Hollywood funny man Will Ferrel will reprise his role as the comedy film's main villain Jacobim Mugatu, but Theroux had hinted that it's likely Ferrel would. According to Theroux, comic actor Jonah Hill could also play an evil character in the upcoming movie.

As early as March this year, Ben Stiller himself confirmed that Zoolander 2 will soon hit the big screen.

"We're in the process of getting a script written, so it's in the early stages. But yeah, it's going to happen," said the Zoolander director.
