The red carpet of the 2012 People's Choice Awards is a fashionable retreat for celebrities to kick start the awards season.

Movie, television, and music stars gather to celebrate the first major awards show this year, and A-listers made sure to dress their best for the red carpet at this year's People's Choice Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

The show's host, Kaley Cuoco of the Big Bang Theory, showed up in a flesh Badgely Mishka strapless gown that showed off her perfect curves and toned shoulders. Another celebrity who didn't fail to show her classy side is Vanessa Hudgens, who arrived in a sparkly black gown by Jenny Packham, one of Kate Middleton's favorite designers.

Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars, the winner of Favorite Television Drama, stunned onlookers with a short, cut out number by Cengiz Abazoglu. Disney star, Demi Lovato, looked fresh and glamorous in a salmon, embellished gown by Marchesa, while Glee's Lea Michele donned a delicate, off-white fringed number by Marchesa.

Aside from wearing boyfriend Liam Hemsworth on her arm, Miley Cyrus looked impeccable wearing a white David Koma cocktail dress. Kristen Bell wowed the audience with a red, laced and leather number that made her stand out.

'The Hunger Games' star, Jennifer Lawrence, looked as sexy and stylish as ever wearing an edgy, cut out royal blue dress from Viktor & Rolf's spring 2012 collection.

For the male celebrities of the night, Neil Patrick Harris stole the show with a sleek, ash tuxedo paired with a smartly-printed tie. Harris won the award for Favorite TV Actor for his role as Barney Stinson in the hit comedy 'How I Met Your Mother.'
