Here is "The Best of Me" movie review including the best and worst moments of the film.

"The Best of Me" was written by J. Mills Goodloe and Will Fetters. It was directed by Michael Hoffman. The film was produced by Nicholas Sparks, Ryan Kavanaugh, Denise Di Novi, Justin Burns and Alison Greenspan. Its running time is 118 minutes. It is a book-to-film adaptation of Sparks' novel "The Best of Me." Its main plot is about high school sweethearts Dawson Cole and Amanda Collier who never stopped loving each other after several years of being apart. Unfortunately, things have changed when they meet again because Amanda is now married and has a son.

The film is bittersweet. It is tinged with melancholy, regret, hope and second chances. The ending of the story is sad, but not depressing because it gave viewers an explanation and some closure to the love story of Amanda and Dawson. James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan played their parts as Dawson and Amanda better than their younger counterparts (Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato). According to The Wrap, Marsden replaced Paul Walker, who tragically died in a car crash on Nov. 30, 2013 in Valencia, California. Below is a list of the best and worst moments of "The Best of Me."

Best Moments:

When...

1. Dawson and Amanda meet each other again as adults in Tuck's place.

2. Dawson first saw Amanda and fell in love at first sight with her.

3. Dawson went to Amanda and her obnoxious friends to tell them off for honking their horns at April's stalled car, instead of trying to help them push the car out of the way.

4. Amanda helped Dawson push April's car.

5. Dawson helped Amanda fix her car and she asked him out on a date.

6. Dawson and Amanda's first kiss.

7. Dawson and Amanda's reunion.

8. Amanda found out that Dawson was the heart donor for her son Jared.

    Worst Moments:

    When...

    1. Dawson's dad hit him.

    2. Tuck was hurt by Dawson's dad.

    3. Bobby was accidentally shot by Dawson during a fight with his father.

    Critics' Reviews:

"The Best of Me was a better film than I expected. Much of that is due to the performances delivered by Marsden, Monaghan, Liana Liberato and especially young Australian actor Luke Bracey as the younger version of Marsden's character," Bill Zwecker wrote on Chicago Sun-Times.

Meanwhile, Sara Stewart of New York Post likens "The Best of Me" to junk food that is artificially sweetened.
