One of the last things that 63-year-old Hollywood actor did to battle depression was check himself into a Minnesota rehab in early July to keep his sobriety. Best known for his role as the alien Mork in the 1970s hit sitcom Mork & Minday, Williams stayed at the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center for a few weeks.

On Tuesday, Willliams was found dead in his California home, an apparent suicide probably due to asphyxia. According to a statement from the Marin County Sheriff's office, it received an emergency call on Aug 11 at about 11:55 am to report that an adult male was found unconscious and not breathing inside his house.
His wife, Susan Schneider, requested for privacy and expressed hope the focus would not be on Robin's demise but the "countless moments of Joy and laughter he gave to millions."
Williams, who studied at the Juilliard Academy where Superman actor Christopher Reeve were classmates in some subjects where they were the only students, successfully transitioned from TV actor to the films where he starred in memorable movies such as Good Morning Vietnam in 1987

Williams won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Good Will Hunting. He also got two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards.
