Microsoft's well-received tablet, the Surface Pro, is scheduled to make its debut in several countries in Europe and other western nations, including Australia, before May ends.

The tablet, which uses Microsoft hardware and OS, is now being shipped to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Then the Surface Pro will reach South Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore and Thailand by the end of June, although its cheaper and lower-tech version, the less popular Surface RT, has gone ahead and is now in store shelves in 23 developed nations.

Priced at $899 and $999 in the U.S., the Surface Pro will have difference price tags across Europe.

The best place to buy it is Switzerland where the Surface Pro will be sold for €770 for the 64GB version and €850 for the 128GB version. The most expensive would be in Sweden where it would retail for €920 and €1,013, respectively.

The price spread is €127 for the 64GB and €163 for the 128GB version.

Buyers from the eurozone, specifically those in Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain, would find no price difference since the price tag of the Surface Pro is standardised at €879 and €999, respectively. The exception would be for buyers of the 64GB in Italy who have to shell out €20 more but when bought in the Netherlands, they would pay a slightly higher €889 for the 64GB but only €799 for the 128 GB.

It is available for A$999 (€759) and A$1,099 (€835) in Australia. The device is considered by tech experts as the best Windows tablet.
