"The Avengers" ass-kicking Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson, debuted her newest body art days ago.

While Scarlett's wrist tattoo is enough to warrant a spot in Hollywood's tattoed celebrity, other female stars have already beaten her to it. From film stars to fashion moguls, here are the best of tattooed female celebrities.

Scarlett Johansson not only promoted her film at Italy last week but she flaunted her new ink as well. The 27-year old bombshell had a simple bracelet tattoo inked on her right wrist.

The tattoo features a charm with the phrase of "I (heart) NY". Given that Scarlett was born in New York and is currently living there would justify why she had chose such a cliché permanence. Scarlett's ink may be minor concern for her male fans especially with her flick, "The Avengers" where she had to don a figure-hugging leather suit.

"First of all, every woman has body worries. I'm not exempt from that," says Scarlett in an interview with ITV1's Daybreak, adding, "But beyond part of the by-product of spending that much time in the gym is that you can fit into a cat suit."

A few other actresses with notable tattoos include Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox, Evan Rachel Wood and Charlize Theron. Angelina Jolie had over more than a dozen tattoos done excluding the ones she had removed later on in her life. Her most notable body ink would be the geographical coordinates on her left upper arm.

Those latitudes and longitudes signify the exact locations from where she had first met her children. There are six lines to date though sources say Angelina had one line added noting the birth place of hubby, Brad Pitt.
