The inaugural BET Awards has already begun with a few awards handed out early in the evening. Since the BET's inception in 2001, the awards show has been dubbed as the "can't-miss" event. One of BET's highest rated events dated back in 2012 with over 7.4 million viewers. So what difference do this year's' BET Awards have in store for fans and celebrities alike? Well, Queen B Beyoncé is set to perform tonight after having been nominated for four awards.

BET Awards Executive Producer, Stephen Hill promises a bigger production. With the BET Awards show moving from the Shrine Auditorium to the Nokia Theatre, big is an obvious word. Given the flashy set revolving around the LA Live Complex, it's a subtle way of the BET Awards saying "the stage doesn't end at the stage."

Of course, like any other awards show, the BET Awards never skimp on the star-studded arrivals. In fact, quite a few lovely ladies already walked the red carpet in their fashionable attires. Even "American Idol's" Nicki Minaj downplayed her looks for an impressive and classy ensemble. "Glee" chick, Naya Rivera certainly caught the eye of fans with her sparkly outfit which was a stark contrast to her boyfriends' plain white shirt and pants look.
