The Queen B's performance of singing the National Anthem at President Barack Obama's inauguration was simply splendid. However, new has it that Beyonce had lip-synched throughout the performance. How true are the rumors?

A lot of talk has been spread out on the web that Beyonce had allegedly lip-synched the "Star-Spangled Banner" during Monday's inaugural ceremony. While a US Marine Band spokeswoman refused to speak up saying they were not "in a position to assess" a few others beg to differ and had spoken up.

"We don't at all we know why she decided to go with the pre-recorded music. All music [for the Inauguration] is pre-recorded as a matter of course," explained Kristin BuBois, Public Affairs Chief for the Marine Band.

"The Marine Band performed live and we received word at the last minute. Colonel Colborne and Officer Perry were standing right there, and I'm not sure who they were in contact with, but Perry gave the word to go with the pre-recorded track at the last minute. I can say that what is common is every four years someone wants to say someone is lip syncing, and four years ago it was Yo Yo Ma. He even admitted it and said well yes, it was 25 degrees, a cello can't make a sound in those conditions. It's not because she couldn't sing, something had to have happened that prevented her from doing that. Kelly Clarkson did sing live and the band accompanied her. James Taylor ... I don't know. We are speaking on our behalf. We don't know why she did it and all we know is what happened. Our role was to perform the National Anthem," continued DuBois.

Another representative for the band confirms the rumors of Beyonce lip-synching during the ceremonies. In an interview with Page Six, the source reports that Queen B was truly "faking" it.

"All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day. We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don't know what the reason why," explained the source.

With the entire buzz on the said rumors, Beyonce still has not spoken up nor have her representatives released a statement. For one, lip-synched or not, Queen B is bound to have one lengthy explanation for this.
