Beyonce Banned in the Pyramids of Egypt: Find Out Why
The "Love on Top" singer Beyonce was banned from the pyramids of Egypt due to her diva-like behavior, sources revealed. The singer left a distasteful impression to the Indiana Jones of Egypt, Zahi Hawass, also the country's former head of antiquities, after displaying a rude behavior, according to reports.
Hawass, known for his intricate tour guidance around the world's greatest relic, labeled Queen B as "stupid" and "rude" after having failed to show up in the proper time for her tour.
Beyonce was scheduled to have a tour at 3 pm around the famous pyramids but failed to show up on time, arriving an hour late. Hawass immediately demanded for an apology from the singer, saying that "She said she would come at 3pm but she came late. I said "You have to say I'm sorry I'm late". But she didn't open her mouth."
To add more insult to the injury, Hawass claimed that Beyonce's entourage almost hit him and his photographer when the latter was about to shoot. Beyonce's photographer allegedly almost hit the former head of antiquities' photographer, resulting in Hawass calling Beyonce "stupid."
Sources from Beyonce's camp reveal that nothing like that sort ever happened in Egypt.
Meanwhile, Hawass is also known to be hungry for media attention, claiming that he is well known and popular back in Egypt. Late in 2009, when President Barack Obama visited the pyramids, Hawass told the press that the camel driver instantly recognised him but was puzzled as to who the person next to Hawass was.
In a related note, Hawass is in hot water after allegations stating that he had been receiving a $200,000 payout from National Geographic to allow untrammeled access of the magazine to the pyramids. The U.S. Justice Department is handling the investigation on the matter.
Could it be that Beyonce was really acting up in Egypt or is Hawass, the gatekeeper of the pyramids, just making things up for more publicity? You be the judge.
According to the singer's reps, these accusations are false. However, this is not the first time that rumours of Queen Bey's rude behaviour has surfaced.
