Despite rumours of the looming divorce, Beyonce and Jay attended a private event together. The power couple continued to show a united front that their marriage is still intact.

According to a report from TMZ, the power couple attended the opening bash of the new restaurant owned by Jay's mother Gloria Carter. The restaurant Diamondz N Da Ruff is located in Newark, New Jersey.

The Website reported that the couple arrived at the family gathering around 7 pm on Aug. 2 in time for the ribbon cutting and champagne toast.They stayed at the opening ceremony for 15 minutes. During the private event, the 32-year old singer hugged and laughed with Mrs. Carter.

A photo obtained by TMZ showed Beyonce and Jay Z in the same frame which projected the image of a happy couple. The Website mentioned that since there were no photographers present on the gathering, there was no show off to put up a united front.

The Beyonce and Jay Z marriage has been deeply scrutinised under the public's eye after a footage leaked online showing Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z at the Standard Hotel's elevator after the MET Gala event last May.

Three months after the sensational elevator attack, Beyonce made the most public comment about the incidennt. The singer released a remix of her hit single "Flawless" with Nikki Minaj.

In the music video, Beyonce sang that Solange taught her how to speak her mind and that Jay Z made her feel so God damn fine. She also mentioned that sometimes s--t go down when there is billion dollars on an elevator.

In an article from Hollywood Life, the Website reported that Beyonce and Jay Z are barely speaking on each other behind the scenes of their joint On the Run tour. The couple is reportedly having a lot of tension but they continued to put up a happy front just for the cameras.

Rumours have spread over the internet that the couple will divorce after their joint tour ends in late September. But Hollywood Life stated that Beyonce and Jay Z have a secret "pact" to save their marriage. It reportedly revolves around their two year old daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
