Is superstar singer Beyonce Knowles expecting a baby? Several reports said that Beyonce is pregnant with her and rapper Jay-Z's first child. However, Beyonce's mom Tina Knowles went on The Ellen DeGeneres show to deny that she will be a grand mother again any time soon.

The news first broke with a report on Thursday from Us Weekly magazine claiming that Beyonce is pregnant. The magazine quoted an unidentified source, that said that the singer was shocked to hear that she is about to become a mother.

The source told Us Weekly: "B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet.".

"She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again."

But another source said the contrary and claimed that Beyonce sees the pregnancy is a gift from God, expressing joy over her looming motherhood.

The pressing question-- the big white elephant in the room-- was raised by Caroline Howard of Forbes in her Social Media column today:

"Will being a mother negatively affect her career advancement and opportunity? In a Sloan Work and Family interview with Joan Williams, a Distinguished Professor of Law at University of California, Hastings College of the Law, about family responsibility discrimination, Williams said that a "recent and influential study showed that mothers are 79% less likely to be hired, 100% less likely to be promoted, and also are assumed to be less competent and committed than women without children."

Howard went on to cite Celine Dion as an example of a celebrity whose career is impeded by her pregnancy (See full report on Celine Dion's pregnancy here). How will Beyonce's career be affected by her reported pregnancy? That's the question in everyone's mind, and maybe Beyonce's mind, too, if the source quoted by the Us Weekly magazine is to be believed.

But the pregnancy is yet to be confirmed by Beyonce's camp although her mother Tina went on television to deny reports that Beyonce is pregnant which just made the pregnancy reports all the confusing, if it did anything.

Fans will surely like to hear from Beyonce and Jay-Z themselves.

If Beyonce is pregnant, then it will be two-years the wait. And maybe, it's time, too. Beyonce and billionaire husband Jay-Z had been married for two year nows since their wedding in a discreet ceremony in New York back in 2008. What do you think?
