Are Beyonce and Jay Z really headed towards divorce? Queen Bey sparks separation speculations after she was reportedly spotted "looking" for an apartment in New York City amid couple's joint tour "On the Run."

Beyonce and Jay Z have been surrounded by divorce and marital problems rumours ever since the infamous Solange-Jay Z elevator fight video emerged. At first it seemed like a rumour on fire, but day after day reports related to couple's life only added fuel to that fire.

According to New York Post, the R&B singer Queen Bey explored $21.5 million penthouse in Chelsea last month. A source told The Post that Beyonce has been "secretly shopping for new" house "without Jay Z."

"She was very quiet, as if she was looking on the sly," told the source to the publication.

The source emphasized on Jay Z's absence during Beyonce's apartment search and revealed that HOV "was nowhere to be seen" at that time. As per the source, Jay Z has "always" taken interest in the couple's "real estate deals." However, the insider speculates that his absence suggests that the 32-year-old singer is "not shopping for both of them."

The "sources close to" the songstress has reportedly revealed that Beyonce started her quest "weeks after" the Solange-Jay Z elevator fight and "amid growing rumours of an impending breakup."

It is reported that the apartment Beyonce has looked at is half the size of their 8309-square-foot Tribeca residency. The said Chelsea penthouse is only 4045 square-foot located on West 19th Street. The source revealed that Jay Z is certainly "not downsizing" and he would be unwilling to leave their Tribeca domicile.

The source denies the possibility of the new dwelling being purchased for Beyonce's mother or sister. The source also speculates that this apartment could be for the songstress and her daughter Blue Ivy.

This news comes after New York Posts' Page Six reported that Beyonce and Jay Z are not wearing their wedding bands anymore. It was also reported that "the end of tour could officially spell the end of the marriage." Another report by New York Post's Page Six noted "that it's not whether they'll split, but how they'll split." The report also made the big revelation that the fight between Jay Z and Solange in the Manhattan hotel elevator was over Rihanna. Jay Z's plans to meet Rihanna later that night reportedly led to the fight.

The person reportedly "hung up" when asked for comments on the apartment hunting news. As for Jay Z's spokesperson "she said she knew nothing" about Beyonce or Jay Z's apartment hunting.
