Beyoncé Releases Surprise Album, Time Magazine Regrets Naming Pope Francis “Person of the Year?”
Time Magazine has just announced its "Person of the year" and it is Pope Francis. People were happy with the choice since Miley Cyrus was also part of the list including 'real' important people with the likes of Angelina Jolie and President Barack Obama.
However, on December 13, fans of Beyoncé may have gotten the best gift ever after the singer had released her album, a surprise album. The self titled album was said to be released next year, on January 14 but Beyoncé gave her fans an early Christmas treat. The album is available on iTunes for download and she includes a "Visual Album", a 30 second preview of videos for all her songs on her album.
Time Magazine is now said to be frustrated over what Beyoncé had done because they had already named the "Pope" as Time Magazine's "Person of the Year". According to the Huffington Post, an source from Time Magazine who wanted to be unnamed said:
"I told them we should wait a few weeks for any late entries, But they wouldn't listen. Now look what's happened. Beyoncé unexpectedly dropping a new album is a complete game-changer. There's nothing Pope Francis could have done to beat this... except for releasing an album. And even then, he'd have to better 14 new songs and 17 videos."

If this is true, there are still a lot of things in which Beyoncé would have to do other than just surprise her fans with a "visual album" along with no publicity about the release of her album. She may be a good singer and performer but many can attest to what "Person of the Year" means. It is not simply about touring the world performing but also helping people and making the world a better place for everyone to live in - just like Pope Francis.
