Beyonce's Surprise Album a Hit: Sold 430,000 Copies in 24 Hours! [Photos/Videos]
Beyonce knows exactly how to do it.
The "Grown Woman" singer was able to top the charts in just 24 hours with her self-titled album, "Beyonce". The album was released December 13 without anyone knowing that it had been out. Her no publicity-stunt and catching-her-fans-by-surprise definitely must have boosted her album sales as 430,000 copies of her album were sold in just mere 24 hours.
Contenders such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and even Britney Spears were not able to get past a hundred thousand in their first week of album sales but Beyonce did more than just that.
Her album includes 14 songs with an additional three songs. It is a visual album which has 17 videos, each with a preview of it's own on Youtube. She has teamed up with singers such as Drake who sings with her on the song "Mine" and with husband Jay Z on the track "Drunk in Love".
Looks like Beyonce was a busy woman as she was also on tour around the world with her "The Mrs Carter Show".
Beyonce sure surprised her fans with an early Christmas gift when she released it on iTunes. Critics have reviewed the album and are saying that her fifth album, may be the best album of the singer which has been creatively done. The tracks on the album are all great to hear and having teamed up with Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams along with others such as Drake and her husband Jay Z, it's not a surprise why Beyonce's new album is a hit.
Fans can get a sneak peek into the various previews of Beyonce's videos for each song on her album.
