The Big Bang Theory: Kelly Cuoco in Talks to Bag a New Movie; Penny and Sheldon to Come Closer, Molaro says 'NO' Romance
Kaley Cuoco, Penny of The Big Bang Theory, is reportedly in talks to star in Jeremy Garelick directed upcoming movie for Screen Gems and Miramax.
Actors Kevin Hart and Josh Gad have already been cast in the untitled movie. Citing a source familiar with the project, The Wrap reports that the actress is in talks for the role of Gad's self-centred fiancée. The character is more concerned about having a perfect wedding than whether her fiancé is happy or not.
The Wrap reports that Gad has been casted to play the role of Doug, the would-be groom who "fabricates" about his best men as well as nine groomsmen. Hart plays the role of Jimmy, a man who provides his services as best man to socially challenged grooms, with no friends.
The actress, 27, recently also completed an Indie comedy, 'Authors Anonymous'. In addition to acting in the movie, she is also the executive producer.
In the CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory Season 7," Cuoco's character Penny is all set to have some interesting time in the upcoming episodes of the new season, especially with Sheldon. Hollywood Reporter reported that since Leonard (Johnny Galecki) is out at the sea, Penny and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) will be "spending some quality time together"
Steve Molaro, writer and executive producer of The Big Bang Theory, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview: "You will see that Penny and Sheldon are both missing Leonard and are spending some quality time together and getting closer than ever -- which I love."
When asked if fans will see romance between Sheldon and Penny, Mr Molaro said, "Probably not."
"I think her love for him is very real, as is Kaley and Jim's relationship in real life. I think that translates. She is like the big sister who is taking care of him -- or sort of a mother figure."
Cuoco is currently dating tennis professional Ryan Sweeting.
