‘The Big Bang Theory’: Mayim Bialik Spills Spoilers About Season 8
Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy in CBS' hugely popular comedy "The Big Bang Theory," has spilled some spoilers about the upcoming Season 8 of "The Big Bang Theory." As previously reported, the first episode will see her character taking an unexpected trip to Arizona, with Leonard, to pick Sheldon from a police station. The first episode will also see Penny getting a new job, that of a pharmaceutical representative, at Bernadette's company.
Speaking about Penny's new job, Bialik said to ETonline, "I'm told that there is an opportunity for us to poke fun at her [Penny] for being too studious when she's preparing for the new job in a couple of episodes and that will be really funny."
The actress revealed to ETonline that Episode 2 of the new season will feature her trying to put "Penny and Bernadette against each other." Amy is going to manipulate the situation to benefit from both Penny and Bernadette's friendship. She is expected to relish becoming the centre of attention.
Calling the episode with Penny and Bernadette "really funny," the actress said to ETonline that Amy will be seen trying to use the young generation's "hip lingo." "She's calling Penny on the phone and she goes, 'Can I get a what what?' "It's just the nerdiest thing ever and she clearly has no idea what she's doing. It's just very cute," Bialik said.
Bialik, however, has disappointing news for Shamy fans. Sheldon and Amy's romance is unlikely to speed up. It will continue to move on the slow track. The actress said that she is in no hurry to see Sheldon and Amy having sex. Recently, Steve Molaro, the showrunner of the show, revealed that Sheldon and Amy's relationship will continue taking baby steps and is not going to take a jump to the next level. The previous season saw Sheldon kissing Amy, but the physical intimacy is not going to become a routine feature of their relationship.
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 premieres on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014. The Episode 1 of the new season is titled "The Locomotion Interruption.
